Ball® Helps Seattle Residents Preserve the Past

A display of Ball® Jars in a downtown Seattle shelter helps occupants preserve their sense of home

The display includes more than 200 glass Ball® Jars filled with various objects such as fortune cookies, marbles, clothespins and toy race cars. According to a volunteer at the shelter, each jar contains a treasure or memento reminding the shelter’s occupants of their childhoods or homes before they encountered harder times.

A plaque on the wall next to the display reminds passersby what the wall of treasures truly means – “Can What You Can…Objects given and received interpret all of our links to the sacred place we all call home.”
