 Post subject: Pickled peppers float

Hi Folks,

First time canner. I made a batch of the pickled hot peppers out of the blue book last night. This morning it looks like the peppers are floating in the solution. Some are popping out of the liquid at the top. I left about 1/4" headspace when I filled them, but there is about 1/2" gap there now. The seals appear fine.

Are the peppers still safe even though they're not immersed in the vinegar solution?
