Replace your old, stovetop water bath canner with the Ball® 21-qt. freshTECH Electric Water Bath Canner + Multi-Cooker, which can be used anywhere there’s a power outlet. Not only is this electric water bath canner 20 percent more energy efficient than traditional stovetop methods for canning, you’ll free up valuable space on your cooktop for other cooking tasks. This canner accommodates large batch canning, fitting 7 quart jars or 8 pint jars comfortably at one time. The ingenious drain spout on the exterior allows you to drain directly into the sink or empty water into a smaller container - no need to worry about moving gallons of hot water at the end of the canning process. The drain spout also enables this item to be used as an electric beverage urn, perfect for dispensing hot tea, cider or cocoa at your next party.

Cook up a storm without using the stove, by conveniently using this electric cooker to steam, simmer, boil, or blanch. It can be used as a stockpot for pastas, soups, and stews, or as a steamer for vegetables and seafood. Heat-resistant rubber-coated handles on the cooker and lid offer a comfortable non-slip grip. The tight-fitting glass lid allows you to monitor the cooking process without losing heat and moisture. The base is detachable for easy cleaning and conveniently nests inside the cooker for more compact storage. The spiral-bound recipe book takes you from canning to fresh chicken noodle soup.

Ball® freshTECH Electric Water Bath Canner + Multicooker is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 115.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cooler in my kitchen I bought this canner from another store and I love it so much. Water bath canning is so much simpler and cooler. My stove would put out so much heat that my auto-fan would come on all the time. This canner holds as many jars as my stove top water bath. I am ordering two of these for my daughter and daughter-in-law. Great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product I bought this because I have a glass top stove. It has worked well for everything I have made. It's really big and heavy when filled, geared to people canning in quart jars. I mostly do jams and jellies. It would be great to see Ball create a smaller version for 'hobby canning'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super appliance I really love my freshTECH electric canner. I've been canning for over 40 years, and know the ins and outs of it pretty well. This canner makes things so much easier - no more lugging a heavy canner full of water around (it's been getting harder every year!). Best of all, though, is that I don't have to use up my best burner and all that space on my stove top when I need all the space I can get to prepare sauces, etc. for canning. this was a super investment, and I'm hoping to get lots more years of use out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect with one tiny exception I love it, except it's a 2 person job to detach it from the base. When it's time to dump the water and clean it, you need one person to hold the base down and another to lift the heavy pot and move it to the sink. DESIGN IMPROVEMENT REQUEST: Add a place to put your hand and hold the base down, while using your other hand to pulling up and detach from the base, then both hands to carry to sink.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product has been a HUGE disappointment I have now used the product 5 times. It has never kept the full boil going for any of those attempts. It is now 2am and I have defaulted to my good old faithful enamel pot. I am so disappointed as not only have I wasted my money to buy the product, I have now lost time and food.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't heat up. I bought this from a catalog that was going out of business. Got it at a very good price. Thought it would work real good as it takes so long to use the old type and our water ruins the rack. Bought it at the end of the canning season so this is the first time I tried to use it. I also have a pressure canner that I have been using. This is the first time I needed to water bath something. I followed the book and turned it on. But it never came to a simmer as it said it would. So I turned it off after several hours. So know I have to use my pressure canner and have to go from quart jars to pint jars. Good I have small pickles. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. When I ordered it the reviews that I read were good. Reading them know I'm not so sure it was a good deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite new appliance! I bought this a few months ago and just never had the time to get my canning done. I picked a heat wave to finally decide to get my canning done and instead of using my enamelware stovetop canner, I thought I would try my new one out. What a difference in made in the whole processing. No more heating my entire kitchen (I don't have central air or an air conditioner), heated the water faster and no more switching pots on my stovetop because everything wouldn't fit on the burners. I was also able to do larger batches of my foods because of the large capacity. And clean up is so much easier too with that spout to let the water right out into my sink. I would recommend this canner to everyone - I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall positive I've been using the canner for a few months now. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it. A BIG thing to keep in mind is that this is a big pot and it will put out a lot of steam. I don't have electric on my island so the steam is hitting the underside of my cabinets and will eventually warp them. I haven't had any issue with small jars tipping as it has the "plate" that goes over the top of the jars when you're canning. I won't use it for small batch canning (4 HP or so). Since I tend to binge can though it's had a lot of use. My upper plate has started to get a bit of rust on it which is disappointing. Maybe I'm "overcanning"! :)
